SAF’s mission is that pets should not have to suffer illness or injury because their owners cannot afford to seek medical attention. Those who ask financial assistance from SAF on behalf of their sick pets are low income groups such as the elderly, disabled or chronically ill. The love and companionship these often isolated people receive from their pets is crucial, and they should not have to choose between the cost of food for themselves and the care of a veterinarian for their ill pets.
